Windows Defender often flags Roblox executors like Xeno as false positives. This happens because executors use injection techniques that look similar to malware behavior. Microsoft's own support forum confirms that Windows Security can block files even when a manual scan shows no virus [citation:1].
Why Defender Flags Xeno
Executors inject code into other processes, which is a behavior shared with some malware. Defender's heuristics flag this pattern even when the file itself is clean. The official Xeno guide acknowledges this and recommends adding an exclusion rather than deleting the files [citation:7][citation:10].
How to Add a Safe Exclusion
Adding a folder exclusion tells Defender to skip scanning that folder. Only do this for files you trust and only from the official source.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Click Virus & threat protection.
- Under Virus & threat protection settings, click Manage settings.
- Scroll to Exclusions and click Add or remove exclusions.
- Click + Add an exclusion and choose Folder.
- Select your Xeno folder and confirm.
This process works on both Windows 10 and Windows 11 [citation:2].
Important: Fake Xeno installers are actively distributing malware through Discord and gaming forums. Bitdefender researchers documented a campaign where fake installers steal browser data, Discord tokens, and crypto wallets, and even allow remote access to your PC [citation:6][citation:9][citation:12]. Only download from the official source. If Defender blocks a file from anywhere else, do not bypass it.
If the File Is Already Blocked
If the download was blocked but the file is already on your PC, right-click the file, select Properties, and check for an Unblock checkbox on the General tab. Tick it and click OK. This removes the "Mark of the Web" that flags internet downloads [citation:1].
If Defender Still Quarantines the File
You may need to restore the file from quarantine first. Go to Virus & threat protection → Protection history, find the Xeno detection, and choose Restore if available. Then add the folder exclusion as described above.
