Lua Script Executor Guide

The basics of running Lua scripts in Roblox through Xeno.

Xeno Build: v1.3.60

Attach first, then paste or load your Lua script.

A Lua script executor is a program that attaches to Roblox and runs Lua code inside the game. Roblox does not let you run your own scripts in other people's games, so an executor like Xeno provides that connection. Once attached, you can paste a script into the editor and execute it.

What a Lua Script Looks Like

Most Roblox scripts you find online are a single line that starts with loadstring. That line tells the executor to download the real script from its creator and run it. This is why scripts can update without you copying anything new — the loadstring points to a live source.

A basic example looks like this:

loadstring(game:HttpGet("https://example.com/script.lua"))()

You paste that entire line into Xeno's editor, click Execute, and the script runs if attach was successful.

The Correct Order for Running Lua Scripts

  1. Open Roblox first. Join the game you want to script in and wait until you are fully loaded.
  2. Launch Xeno and attach. Wait for the attach to succeed. If you see a red dot, attach failed — see Xeno Not Attaching.
  3. Paste or load your script. You can paste a loadstring directly, or use the Script Hub to load a script for a supported game.
  4. Click Execute. The script runs in the game if it is compatible and the attach is active.

Why does Execute do nothing? The most common reasons are a failed attach or an outdated script. Restart Roblox and Xeno, attach again, and try a different script. If attach works but scripts consistently fail, see How to Fix Xeno Errors.

Script Compatibility

Not every Lua script works with every executor. Xeno supports most standard Roblox Lua scripts, including Lua Armor scripts, but script compatibility depends on the game and the script's current version. After a Roblox update, some scripts may stop working until their creators update them.

Safety Reminder

Running scripts through any executor carries a risk of Roblox account action. Use an account you are willing to lose, and only download scripts and executors from sources you trust. For the full safety breakdown, see Is Xeno Safe to Use?.
