When Roblox pushes an update, the client changes its internal structure. Xeno relies on matching that structure to inject and run Lua. If your build is older than the patch, it simply cannot attach anymore. This is normal for every external executor, not a sign that Xeno is permanently broken [citation:8].
What You Are Looking For
You need the newest Xeno build released after the Roblox patch. Downloading the same old file again will not fix the mismatch — the file itself must be newer than the Roblox update [citation:8].
Recovery Checklist (In Order)
- Close everything. Shut down Roblox completely and close Xeno.
- Delete the old Xeno folder. Go to
%localappdata%, find the Xeno folder, and remove it. Corrupted cache can cause attach failures even after updating [citation:7][citation:13]. - Download the latest build using the button above. Only use the official source — third-party mirrors often repackage old files.
- Extract to a fresh folder and add your antivirus exclusion again if needed.
- Open Roblox first. Join a game and wait until you are fully loaded in.
- Launch Xeno as Administrator and click Attach.
- Test with a simple script before running anything heavy.
If attach works but scripts fail: the issue is script compatibility, not injection. Check Roblox Patch Fix for script-side troubleshooting. If attach itself fails, see Xeno Not Attaching.
Do Not Do This
- Do not download “patched” files from random Discord servers or YouTube links.
- Do not disable your antivirus permanently just to force an old build to run.
- Do not assume the problem is your PC — if it broke right after a Roblox update, it is a version mismatch.
